Physical Therapy

What is a Physical Therapist?

A Physical therapist treats patients who are suffering from physical injuries or disabilities by teaching them various therapeutic exercises and activities that strengthen muscles, improve mobility and relieve pain.

Dr. Stotts treats accident victims and clients with such conditions as sciatica, migraines, low back pain, muscle strains, carpal tunnel syndrome, neck pain, foot problems and much more.

What do Physical Therapists do?

Physical therapists develop a rehabilitation plan and provide ongoing evaluations based on their patients’ activities and progress. Dr. Stotts assists patients in restoring a wide range of actions; such as turning one’s head side to side, rebuilding shoulder strength, and improving one’s gait (the manner of walking) to name a few.

For a patient recovering from an injury or disorder, Dr. Stotts will help reduce the patient’s pain and increase the patient’s strength, endurance, and stability. In addition to treatments given in the office, she will work with the patient to develop home therapy program for continued care.

Chiropractic

What is a Chiropractor?

Chiropractors are physicians who specialize in the treatment of musculoskeletal, physiological, and biomechanical disorders of the body. Dr. Beverlin and Dr. Freseth use a variety of specialized techniques to realign the body and return the spine and surrounding structures to normal health. In addition, they help guide the patient to overall health through instruction in injury prevention, health promotion, and lifestyle modification.

Dr. Beverlin and Dr. Freseth treat a variety of symptoms and disorders such as: sciatica, low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, foot and ankle problems, numbness and tingling in the extremities, and degenerative disorders.

What do Chiropractors do?

Chiropractors conduct a thorough evaluation to determine areas of malalignment and dysfunction commonly known as subluxations. A subluxation is a misalignment of the joints that can result in nerve pressure and irritation, which can lead to discomfort, pain, and decrease range of motion.

Using specialized adjustments, Dr. Beverlin and Dr. Freseth help the spine and surrounding joints to realign to unlock tensed joints. A therapy program can be established for rehabilitation and maintenance care, that may include postural and strengthening exercises, stretches, and ergonomic education.

Massage Therapy

What is a Massage Therapist?

Massage therapists treat patients through a variety of bodywork techniques. With an extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, massage therapists have trained to treat numerous muscular dysfunctions through manual techniques.

Recognized as one of the oldest methods of healing, massage therapy helps improve circulation, decrease pain, relieve tension, improve biomechanical function, and help speed the body’s natural healing process.

What do Massage Therapists do?

Whether used exclusively or combination to treat a muscular complaint, massage therapists are trained in specialized manual techniques such as deep tissue therapy, trigger point therapy, sports massage, and myofascial release.

Massage therapists use their skills to relieve trigger point pain, improve biomechanical function, relax contracted fascia (the protective covering of muscles), increase flexibility and range of motion, and decrease chronic pain.
